If you have a convertible top, leave it up and the windows and vents closed. A convertible top can develop nasty creases when folded for long periods, especially in cold climates.

Pre owned Morgan / Used Morgan Cars For Sale UK and London

The Morgan Motor Company is a very famous British car manufacturer. It is based in Malvern Link, close to Malvern, Worcestershire. What makes this company unique is that all cars manufactured here are made by hand. So your turn for a car may run into years.

In 1909 H.F.S. Morgan's, the founder of the company constructed a three-wheeled single-seat vehicle, for his own use. When this vehicle evinced a lot of interest he patented his design and began production. But he was sure there would be more demand for a model with two seats. Slowly he started off with two seat or four seat three-wheelers or cycle cars.

The first four-wheeler vehicle built by Morgan was the 4-4, with four-cylinder engine. Introduced in the market in 1936 it was named the Morgan 4-4 Series 1. The four wheeler was produced alongside the production of three-wheelers until 1952.

In 1950 the Morgan introduced the Morgan +4. It consisted of a larger engine than the 4-4. The +4 used the 2088 cc Standard Vanguard engine, but the 4-4 used a Standard Special 1267 cc engine. After a few years the +4s used Triumph TR2 - TR4 engines. However +4 productions which were discontinued in 1969 was re introduced in 1985. This time it consisted of a Fiat engine. Later it carried the 4 cylinder Rover engine. The model was again discontinued only to be re introduced in 2004 with a 155 bhp (116 kW/157 PS) Ford 4 cylinder.

From 1964 to 1967 a more modified version of the +4, named the +4+, was made from with a contemporary fiberglass coupe body. The reduced drag features and light weight enhanced the performance of the +4+ over the regular +4 in all respects. However, due to lack of enthusiasm only 26 of hem were built. When large four-cylinder engines became scarce in the market Morgan began to use the latest Rover V8 engine in their +4 models in 1968, thereby giving their new cars the model designation +8. The +8 could accelerate faster than the older version of +4 and also had an enhanced road-holding capability.

In 2000, the Morgan Aero 8 was introduced.  The Aero 8, with a BMW V8 engine and about half the weight of the BMW, is faster than the Plus 8. The newest Aero 8 has a top speed of over 170 mph. Because of its light weight it can notch up to 0-62 mph in just 4.5 seconds.

Morgan introduced a traditional model in place of the obsolete Plus 8 in 2004. This new model was named the Morgan “Roadster”. It was powered by a Ford UK Mondeo V6 producing 212 bhp. In 2007, the Roadster II was introduced. In this version the Mondeo engine was substituted by a US version of the same engine.

In October 2006 Morgan revealed its intent to produce a fuel cell based sports car called the LIFE car. The car would be based on the Aero 8.

All the old models of Morgan are still rated as exotic cars. They are available in the market as second hand luxury cars. Their demand in the market is well justified as they are treated as used classic cars.
