Bristol Cars Ltd is a world famous car manufacturing company based at Filton, near Bristol, England. All its Luxury cars are hand-built taking four times the man-hours to complete than other luxury cars. Its suspension and engine was a replica of BMW designs. Even the striking grille of BMW was not changed. The Bristol cars manufactured till 1961 used the 6-cylinder derived engines of BMW. These engines were also used in many sports cars. When Bristol 407 rolled out in 1961, the company relied on big engines of Chrysler V8. These engines were more suited for heavy cars. Bristols cars made from 1961 which includes the Fighter and Blenheim models to date use engines of Chrysler. The Bristol Type 603 was one of its famous models launched in 1976. This was followed by the the 603S2, which had a standard 5.9 litre Chrysler unit that was to be used for other subsequent models. The third series of 603 was the 603s3. It was introduced in 1982. Bristol further refined the 603, with the Blenheim. This model had improved both on performance and fuel consumption. After this there were two more new series of Blenheim. In 1998- 99 Blenheim, rolled out a new version. It featured an improved transmission, which helped save on fuel consumption. The next version of Blenheim which rolled out in 2000 had the typical vertical tail-lights discontinued. However it had a better looking interior with improved instrumentation and an entirely new kind of gear. With no advertisement Bristol cars have an exclusive obscurity about them.
