If you have a convertible top, leave it up and the windows and vents closed. A convertible top can develop nasty creases when folded for long periods, especially in cold climates.

Pre owned MG / Used MGs Cars For Sale UK and London

MG is popular for their two-seat sports cars. However the company has also produced coupés and saloons. In 1935, the company was sold to Morris Motors. The British Motor Corporation later absorbed the MG brand in 1952. During the 1960s, British Leyland had control of the brand. Till 2005, the MG brand belonged to the MG Rover Group based in Longbridge, Birmingham. The ownership was then taken over by Nanjing Automobile Group, with some grandiose plans to produce MG cars all over again.

The MG is a British brand of sports car, which has been around for over eighty years. The 1924 MG 14/28, the first model, was highly popular in the market. The model continued through several versions modified by Morris. The 18/80 of 1928 was the first car which could be called the new MG. It had the first appearance of the customary vertical MG grille. In 1929, a smaller car was introduced in the market. The company made a mark in the dawn of international automobile racing. Starting before and continuing after World War II, MG manufactured a series of cars called the T-Series Midgets. After the war was over these were exported all around the world. The models exported included the MG TC, MG TD, and MG TF. Though they were produced with various degrees of updating these models were based on the pre-war MG TB.

In 1955, MG digressed from the Y-Type saloons and pre-war designs and introduced the MGA. In 1962 the MGB was introduced to meet the high need for a more comfortable and sophisticated sports car. The fixed head coupé followed the MGB GT. With regular up gradation, the MGB was manufactured until 1980. A model called the MGC was released between 1967 and 1969. Though it was based on the MGB body, it had a larger six-cylinder engine. In 1961 MG began manufacturing the MG Midget. It resembled a second generation Austin-Healey Sprite.

The MG badge was used on a number of Austin saloons. These included the Metro, Maestro, and Montego. In New Zealand, the MG badge was seen till late 1980s Montego estate, called the MG 2.0 Si Wagon. On the launch of a Rover model the MG Metro stopped production in 1990. The MG Montego and MG Maestro was on sale until 1991. In 1992 the Rover Group once again brought the two-seater with the MG RV8. In 1995 the modified MGF was put up for sale. It slowly became the first mass-produced MG sports car since the MGB stopped in 1980.

In May 2000, after a six-year ownership, BMW sold off the Rover group. Phoenix Consortium took it over from them. The group now included just the Rover and MG models. In the summer of 2001 the MG range was broadened with the introduction of three Rover-based sports models. The MG ZR was built alng the lines of the Rover 25, the MG ZS on the Rover 45, and the MG ZT/ZT-T were based on the Rover 75.
