If you have a convertible top, leave it up and the windows and vents closed. A convertible top can develop nasty creases when folded for long periods, especially in cold climates.

Lamborghini is an Italian manufacturer of sports and commercial cars. Founded in 1962 the company is based in a small village called Sant'Agata Bolognese, near Bologna.  Today, Lamborghini is a subsidiary of Audi AG, the German luxury car manufacturer. Interestingly Audi AG, is again a subsidiary of Volkswagen Group.

The Lamborghini came out with its first car in 1963. Named the 350GTV the car became a sensation of sorts in the market. Bolstered by its success the company came out with Lamborghini 400GT. Even this car got very good response in the automobile market. Gains from both these cars emboldened the company to design the Lamborghini Miura, the company’s first sports car. Named after Don Eduardo Miura the well known bull fighting trainer,  the car was put on display at Geneva Auto Show in March 1966. With the launch of the Miura the company got a foothold into the world of car manufacturers with repute.

Alongside the Miura, a four seater car named Espada, built on the concept of Marzal car, was made. The Espada meaning sword in Spanish is a low-slung touring car. It uses the V12 engine with a 4 liter capacity. The car could notch up a speed of about 150 mph (240 km/h). The car sported a taillight panel made of glass which was similar to the one used by its rival Fiat 124 Coupé.

Lamborghini manufactured the LP500 Countach in 1971. Three years later the LP400 Countach was launched in the market. Both these cars flaunted the Lamborghini’s characteristics scissor doors, along with rear air intakes which were vertically mounted.

Due to major financial complications the company was finally sold to Chrysler in 1987. During the change of hands Lamborghini was designing the Diablo, the successor to Countach’s. This design was enhanced by Chrysler. With Chrysler's touch the Diablo improved on areas of comfort and maneuverability.

Chrysler slowly found the going tough and sold Lamborghini to Megatech, a group based in Indonesian in 1994. Ex-Lotus Mike Kimberley, the Chief Executive, who was familiar to Chrysler management, took over the leadership of Lamborghini. The company witnessed a swing in its ebbing fortunes with the execution of new marketing strategies. Net sales of the cars increased from 101 in 1993 to 301 in 1994. In 1995 the sales jumped to 414.

In 1996 the Lamborghini Diablo SV was introduced in the market. Encouraged by the Lamborghini Miura SV, the Diablo SV had a more powerful 525bhp V12 engine carrying the variable cam timing technology introduced by Lamborghini. The Diablo SV became the most sought after version of the Diablo. This was followed by the The Lamborghini Diablo SVR.

In 1997 the company was sold by Megatech to Audi AG. As major component suppliers for future models of Lamborghini, Audi AG had great interests in the company. Thus, Audi AG became the proprietor of Automobile Lamborghini.

The Murcielago, its last product was greatly influenced by the design conceptualized by Audi AG. Today all the second hand luxury cars of Lamborghini make are considered as used classic cars.
