Enzo Ferrari worked at Alfa Romeo through most of the 1920s before deciding to build his own racing and road cars. After years of modifying and building racing cars using Fiat and Alfa Romeo components, Ferrari set up shop in Maranello, Italy, and produced his own car in 1948. |

Lotus Elite

| Two Lotus cars share the name Lotus Elite. First Lotus Elite was produced between 1957 and 1963. It was an ultra-light 2-seat coupe commonly known as Lotus Type 14. Fiberglass monocoque construction in place of separate chassis and body components was the commendable achievement with Elite I. In 1974 Lotus Type 75 and Type 83 were introduced and named Lotus Elite II. It was the first saloon car of Lotus.
